The Portland Water District respects your privacy. Below is information about our commitment to protecting your privacy online.

1. Collection of Personal Information.
We do not automatically collect any personally identifying information on our site from visitors. If you are simply browsing our site, we do not gather any personally identifying information about you. 

If you contact us via e-mail or otherwise, you will necessarily be providing personally identifying information. We use links throughout our site to provide you with the opportunity to contact us via e-mail to ask questions, request information, sign up for direct payment, make changes to your account, or provide comments and suggestions. You may also be offered the opportunity to have one of our representatives contact you personally to provide additional information. To do so, we will require personally identifying information from you, such as your e-mail address, name, telephone number, account number, and/or checking account to help us satisfy your request. By contacting us through e-mail, mail or telephone you consent to our collection of personally identifying information.

In addition, we may collect certain statistical information, which is not personally identifying information, about your visit. 4. Collection of Personal Data from Children.
We do not attempt to collect personally identifying information from children. Personal information sent to us, such as e-mail, which appears to be from a child is deleted. We cannot always determine if information is from a child.

5. Our Right to Contact you.
We reserve the right to contact site visitors regarding account status and changes to this Privacy Policy, or any other policies or agreements relevant to site visitors.

6. Security.
The Website is a Thawte certified Authentic Site, which uses Thawte SSL Web Server Certificates to offer secure communications by encrypting all data to and from the site.

7. Our Right to Change Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right to change this policy at any time, without notice, by posting the new or revised privacy policy at this location www.pwd.org.
