Several Gorham Residents Will Notice Water Pressure Increases On November 1

A multi-million dollar water system improvement project to increase capacity, water pressure, and fire protection capabilities in areas of Gorham and Windham is nearly complete. The recent installation of new water mains on Ward’s Hill Road, Dyer Road, and Huston Road in Gorham will increase water pressure approximately 60 PSI for customers highlighted on the attached map. Those customers have been notified and will no longer need booster pumps.
Upgrades began in 2006 with the installation of water mains in parts of Fort Hill Rd., Huston Rd. and Ward’s Hill Rd. In addition, the installation of a new pump station off Ward’s Hill Road is scheduled to be constructed in 2017 and will replace two obsolete stations built in 1898 and 1950.
