Portland Water District and staff recognized at the Maine Water Environment Association’s Fall Convention last month.

Wastewater Services Director Scott Firmin received the 2017 Lee Agger Award from the Maine Joint Environmental Training Coordinating Committee.   The award recognizes environmental professionals who have shown a dedication to their profession and to the organization. 

Environmental Scientist Rebekah Sirois and Chief Wastewater Plant Operator Steve Sloan accepted the Department of Environmental Protection’s Certificate of Achievement Award.  The Award recognizes Portland Water District’s Wastewater Services Department for outstanding management and operation of the system and contribution to the wastewater treatment profession.

Laboratory Intern Crystal Cooper accepted the Young Professionals Committee Higher Education Award and scholarship to further her education in the water field.
