Tour Request

To request a tour of a Portland Water District facility, please complete and submit the following form. If you have questions about our facilities or guidelines, please email

At this time PWD is not conducting inside tours. The only tour that is available is a fully outside tour of the East End Wastewater Treatment Facility.

Thank you for your understanding and please look back here for developments.

Due to staffing limitations and a simpler plant configuration, tours at our Westbrook/Gorham facility are recommended for most groups. If you would like a tour at East End, please select it below and include details about your preference of this facility in the “Tour reason” at the bottom of this form.

Due to the complexity of content covered, tours are provided for students in high school and above. The maximum number of students on a tour is 20 (excluding chaperones/teachers). Two chaperones per every 10 students are required.

Middle school groups will be considered if their course of study is directly related to treatment processes, and are limited to 15 students with a minimum of two chaperones. Please include details about your request in the “Tour reason” at the bottom of this form.

Please enter the name, address, and phone number of the lead coordinating adult and the names of the other adults that will be attending the tour.

You may request a starting time from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. All tours must end by 3:00 p.m.
Tours at Sebago Lake Water Treatment Facility are provided year-round and take 2 hours.
Tours at the wastewater treatment facilities are provide April-November (closed in winter) and take 1.5 hours.
