PWD welcomes the newest trustee, Leroy Crockett of Scarborough

07.27.2023

Leroy Crockett of Scarborough is our newest trustee.  As a write-in candidate, he received 126 votes out of 536 votes cast, or 24%. He fills the seat left by Seth Garrison when he became General Manager last year. The seat is up for reelection in November 2023. Leroy plans to campaign for his re-election to the Portland Water District Board for the upcoming 5-year-term.

Leroy is currently an Account Manager at Troiano Waste Services.

“I was born and raised in Scarborough. I believe in giving back to my community. I want to use my talents from my career to help our town as a trustee on Portland Water District,” he stated on his Facebook election page. He says his grandparents and parents took him volunteering at an early age, instilling a strong community connection that he hopes his two children will carry on.

Leroy is an active volunteer in the community, currently serving on various committees including Scarborough Buy Local where he is Treasurer and Scarborough Chamber of Commerce where he is President. He is a two-time past President of the Scarborough Rotary Club, and past Chair of the Scarborough Zoning Board of Appeals where he served for nine years.

After high school, Leroy attended the University of Southern Maine and studied business management.
