Portland Water District looks to fill trustee seat representing Scarborough

A Special Election will be held to elect a Portland Water District Trustee representing the town of Scarborough. Nomination papers are available in the Scarborough Town Clerk’s Office and must be returned by the first Wednesday in April, by close of business. The Special Election will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

The Portland Water District is governed by a Board of 11 trustees representing the cities and towns it serves. The Board sets important policy and direction to actively protect our water resources and ensure safe and clean public water for over 200,000 people in Greater Portland. 

The Board generally meets twice monthly, with a workshop session and a regular business meeting. Trustees receive a stipend for meetings attended.
