Portland Water District employees called on as industry leaders

The Portland Water District prides itself on delivering exceptional services and proudly shares its knowledge and time to support the water and wastewater industry. Below are the latest appointments. 

Seth Garrison, General Manager at the Portland Water District, was selected to be Vice President of the New England Section Board of the American Water Works Association (AWWA). AWWA is the largest nonprofit, scientific, and educational association dedicated to managing and treating water, the world's most important resource.

Scott Firmin, Director of Wastewater Services at the Portland Water District, has been elected to a three-year term on the North East Biosolids Residuals Association (NEBRA) Board of Directors. NEBRA is a non-profit professional association advancing the environmentally sound and publicly supported recycling of biosolids and other organic residuals in New England and eastern Canada.

Dustin Price, Chief Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator at the Portland Water District, has been appointed to the JETCC Board of Directors. The Joint Environmental Training Coordinating Committee (JETCC) was established in 1985 to coordinate training that meets the needs of Maine’s environmental professionals. The Board is appointed by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection’s Commissioner.

Roger Paradis, Water Distribution System Manager at the Portland Water District, was elected to the New England Water Works Association (NEWWA) Board as the Maine State Director. Founded in 1882, NEWWA is the regional, independent, member-driven association that serves the drinking water profession across the six New England states.
