Cape Elizabeth, Westbrook wastewater facilities earn peak performance award

The Portland Water District was recently recognized by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) with its 2022 Peak Performance Award for the Cape Elizabeth Wastewater Treatment Facility and the Westbrook/Gorham Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility.

The Peak Performance Award recognizes Member Agency facilities for excellence in wastewater treatment as measured by compliance with their NPDES permit. The award program offers national recognition for the hard work and commitment to excellence NACWA members put forth every day on behalf of the environment and their communities.

For over 50 years, NACWA has been the nation’s recognized leader in legislative, regulatory, legal, and communications advocacy on the full spectrum of clean water issues. NACWA represents public wastewater and stormwater agencies of all sizes nationwide.
