Christopher E. Crovo

Executive Director of Asset Management and Planning

Christopher Crovo came to the Portland Water District as director of operations in 1998. In 2001, the position of operations director was split, and Crovo became the executive director of asset management and planning. In this new role, Crovo focuses on managing the District’s $232 million in assets and capital improvement projects. 

Before joining the District, Mr. Crovo worked for the city of Lewiston's Public Works Department. He held the position of superintendent of water and sewer for 10 years after being promoted from chief engineer (3 years). Prior to that he worked for the James W. Sewall Company and the U.S. Geological Survey. 

 In 1982, Crovo received degrees in both natural resources management and civil engineering from the University of Maine, Orono. Also, Mr. Crovo holds a class four water operator license.
