    Boil Water Order LIFTED for Presidential Ridge and Overlook Drive Westbrook, Maine, 2/5/26
    Customers can now use their tap water for all purposes. The boil water order is lifted as of 10:00 a.m. on February 5, 2026. All water tests indicate the water is safe to drink without boiling.   February 4, 2026 9:56 a.m. Due to a water main break, the Portland Water District has issued a precautionary Boil Water Order for Presidential Ridge and Overlook Drive in Westbrook, Maine. The boil order is in effect immediately. As a precaution, consumers are directed to boil water for 1 minute at a rolling boil before
    • Drinking
    • Washing food
    • Making ice cubes
    • Brushing teeth
    • Or in any other activity involving consumption
    Boiling water kills bacteria and other organisms that could potentially be in the water. This Order shall remain in effect until further notice. Water samples will be collected, and results will be available in approximately 24 hours. Questions regarding this notice should be directed to:

    Important notice regarding backflow inspection letters:
    PWD recently sent a backflow device inspection letter in error to some customers with non-testable devices. If you do not currently submit yearly testing results and your device is non-testable, no action is required, and you may disregard the letter.
