After idle year prompted by pandemic restrictions, the Sebago Lake monitoring buoy is back in water

06.08.2021

The Portland Water District deployed the real-time water quality buoy in Sebago Lake’s Lower Bay last week and continues to work on the calibration of various sensors.  The buoy records and wirelessly transmits data on temperature and other water quality indicators to www.pwd.org.  The data is studied by PWD scientists and Saint Joseph’s College of Maine researchers, professors, and environmental science students and is available to the general public.
