Water Main Break Reduces Water Pressure On Casco Bay Islands

As a result of a water main break between Great Diamond Island and Little Diamond Island, Portland Water District customers on Great Diamond Island, Little Diamond Island, Peaks Island, and Cushings Island may have experienced low water pressure this morning. Telemetry alarms warned PWD of low water pressure on the Islands at 4:30 a.m. this morning.  Crews were able to locate and isolate the leak so water pressure is returning to normal.  Repair crews have been mobilized and will be able to repair the leak on the 8 inch main at low tide.
