Scarborough Student Awarded $1,500 Scholarship

Yesterday the Portland Water District Board of Trustees awarded the 2016 Joseph A. DiPietro Memorial Scholarship to Jennifer Sawtelle of Scarborough.  Sawtelle is pursuing a degree in environmental science at the University of Southern Maine.  She maintains a 3.34 GPA while working and volunteering.   She is the first in her family to attend college.

The scholarship was established to commemorate longtime trustee Joe DiPietro’s dedication to advancing youth education, and the Portland Water District Board of Trustees is proud to continue to support local students entering water, wastewater, science, and environmental fields.
