What: Exclusive Media Tour of New UV Water Treatment System; A behind the scenes look at how it works.

After nearly five years of source water monitoring, a pilot program, and construction, the $12 million dollar UV treatment facility is complete. The ultraviolet water treatment system will be fully operational by EPA’s compliance deadline of April 1, 2014.

New federal rules required 14,000 public water systems that use surface water or sources under direct influence of surface water to install additional disinfection to further treat for possible pathogens, mainly Cryptosporidium.
