Kayak expedition on Sebago Lake

09.15.2014

This FREE 2-hour kayak expedition will explore the southern end of Sebago Lake in Standish. At 9:30 a.m., the group will launch the fleet of kayaks off of Smith Mill Road and begin exploring the open water marsh between the Sticky River and Sebago Lake. We’ll hopefully be treated to some intriguing and rare wildlife sightings as well as the opportunity to observe water-lilies and other aquatic vegetation. Before returning, we’ll paddle under the abandoned trestle that once hosted the Maine Central Railroad to venture out onto Sebago. Be sure to bring along a snack, water, and binoculars. A kayak, PFD, and paddle will be provided for each registered participant for FREE. Registration is required and is on a first-come, first-served basis due to a limited number of kayaks.

To register: sebagolake@pwd.org or 774-5961 x 3320
