Little Lake Stewards Story Time

The Portland Water District invites area preschoolers to join them for themed, read-aloud story times and related activities during the winter and spring months!  Through stories, games, and crafts we aim to build upon natural curiosities about the environment.

All events are FREE and take place on Fridays from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Snacks provided. Donations are accepted and will support local land trusts whose work conserves land which protects Sebago Lake’s health for generations to come.

LLSST is taught by our environmental educators at the Sebago Lake Ecology Center. This environmental education program is geared toward preschool aged children (aged 3-6). Each story time is based on an environmental theme and includes literature, related crafts, coloring, and hands-on and outdoor activities. Lessons cover topics such as trees and their leaves, forest animals and their tracks, frogs, and insects. This program typically is available monthly from October through April. Parents stay with their children for the duration of each lesson. Registration is required, check back for the schedule and lesson information.

Contact our education coordinator for more information.
