Portland Water District Trustees Approve $47.8 Million Budget |

| At their last regular meeting, the Portland Water District Board of Trustees unanimously (11-0) approved a $37.2 million operating budget and a $10.6 million capital improvement plan for 2010. The 2010 operating budget is essentially the same as 2009.
The $10.6 million capital improvement plan will fund several infrastructure projects – most notably $4 million in upgrades at aging wastewater treatment facilities and $3.5 million in water distribution system renewals. The budget assumes a mid-year water rate increase of 3.5%, which is estimated to add an additional $0.49 to a typical monthly water bill (residential). In coming months, the Board will consider a rate increase and how much that increase should be. This increase does not affect wastewater rates, which are determined by local municipalities. # # # |
