Portland Water District Welcomes Water Educators |

| Recently, the Portland Water District (PWD) welcomed two environmental educators to its team.
Ellen McCann Labbe has five years experience as an environmental educator. She has worked with students and the public at the Seacoast Science Center, the Mount Washington Observatory and most recently the Wells Reserve at Laudholm. She graduated from the Maine School of Science and Mathematics and received her Bachelors of Environmental Science from the University of Guelph (Ontario, Canada). Ellen is thrilled to be working with the Portland Water District this year, bringing water education to classrooms across the region. Camilla Fecteau is a wildlife biologist who has recently discovered a passion for environmental education. She has a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Maine at Farmington and a M.S. in Biology from the University of Southern Maine. She has spent time studying plants on Cape Cod with the National Park Service, Common Loons and Belted Kingfishers across the Eastern U.S. with the BioDiversity Research Institute, and most recently, Alewives in Mill Brook with the Maine Department of Marine Resources. She lives on a tree farm in western Maine and finds much joy while exploring the natural wonders our world has to offer. This is her second year as a PWD educator and she is excited for all it may bring. The Portland Water District conducts school-based education and provides educational resources through its Hydrologics program. The program brings hand-on environmental education to students of all ages in Greater Portland and the Lakes Region. # # # |
