Can I pay my bill on-line at PWD's website?

Yes you can! Select the MyOnlineBill link on the PWD Home Page to either set-up your account ( if you are a first time user), or sign in if you are already set-up. Online payments are withdrawn from your checking or savings account; credit and debit cards are not accepted at this time. You will be prompted to enter your bank account and routing #.
There are 3 on-line payment methods to choose from:

  • (Pay Now) to make an occasional or one-time payment today
  • (Auto-Pay) to sign up for automatic, monthly payments
  • (Schedule Pay) to schedule a payment for a future date. Note: To schedule a future payment select the Pay Now Tab and select a future payment date from the calendar.

What does MyOnlineBill mean?

Its a FREE service on PWDs website which allows you to:

  • View up to 24 months of bill statements
  • Sign up for automatic, monthly bill payments from your checking/savings account (Auto-Pay)
  • Make a one-time/occasional payment today from your checking/savings account (Pay Now)
  • Schedule a one time/occasional payment for a future date (Schedule Pay)
  • Sign up to view your bills on-line Go Paperless!

What is required to register for PWD's MyOnlineBill service?

You will need your PWD bill. Enter your PWD account number; select your billing address; and create a user name, password, security question/answer, and enter your email address. You will receive an email with a confirmation link that you must select to complete your new account set-up. Once set-up, only you can access your account.

Is there a charge for using PWD's MyOnlineBill service?

No, it's a free service.

Can I pay more or less than I owe using the on-line payment option at PWD's website?

You can pay any amount if you are using the Pay Now or Schedule Pay options to make an occasional or one time payment. If you signed up for the Auto-Pay program, the full amount of your bill will be automatically deducted from your bank account.

How will I know my payment has been made?

You will receive an email confirming your payment. You will also see the payment deducted from your banking account statement. Although your payment has been confirmed immediately by email, it can take up to 2 business days to post and be deducted from your PWD account.

How do I sign up for automatic, monthly bill payments (Auto-Pay)?

Do you have an unpaid bill?
Yes. Take a moment to make a one-time, online payment by clicking the red Pay Now tab. This opens up options to select Pay Now or to Enter a Schedule Payment date. Then click the Auto-pay Setup box to establish automatic payments for your future bills.

No, my bill is paid in full. Click the red Auto-pay tab at the bottom of the screen and follow prompts to establish automatic payment of your future bills.

Through PWD's Auto Pay program, how long will it take for my payment to be automatically deducted?

Your automatic payments will be deducted approximately 18 calendar days after your next PWD bill date.

If I have multiple accounts, will I have to set up separate registrations for each account?

No. You can add multiple accounts to your existing registered account. Select the MyOnlineBill link at the PWD Home Page to sign in using your username and password. You will need the PWD account number and associated billing address of the account you want to add. Select the Manage Account Tab at the top of the page:

  • Select the Add/Remove Tab to enter the new account number
  • To pay the newly added account, click on the View/Pay Bill Tab to select your preferred payment method; Auto-Pay or Pay Now.
  • The banking account number and routing number found on the registered account will automatically be brought forward to the added account. If you dont want to pay the added account from that bank account you can remove it and setup a new bank account. banking numbers and setup new banking numbers.

I have multiple accounts setup under one registration at PWDs MyOnlineBill website. Do I have to pay each account individually?

Yes, even though there is only one username and password for all the accounts, you have to pay each account individually. Click on the Pay Now Tab and decide if you want to pay the bill today (Pay Now) or schedule a payment for a later date (Schedule Pay).

An alternative to making individual monthly payments would be to setup each account for Auto-pay. After the initial setup, payments would automatically be deducted 18 calendar days after the PWD bill date.

How secure is my personal and banking information?

MyOnlineBill uses industry leader Verisign to ensure the maximum security and privacy. All transactions are encrypted with the latest security software. Please feel free to review the Privacy Policy for detailed information.

Can I receive a paperless bill?

Yes! 

New User:

  • Select the View and Pay Bill Online link at the PWD Home Page.
  • Select the Account Set-up button. You will need your PWD account number and the associated billing address.
  • During the set-up process you will be asked if you want to Go Paperless; you must select Yes or No.

Already Set-up:

  • Enter your username and password and select the Sign in button.
  • Select the Manage Account Tab at the top of the screen, then select the Update User Detail Tab.
  • Click on Update Go Paperless.
  • In the Action Column, click Enable. The Enable status means you are now set up for paperless bills.

An automatic, monthly email will notify you when the bill and insert are available to be viewed on our website. Thank you for considering this environmentally friendly, paperless option that also helps to maintain low rates.

I changed my mind, I want to receive a paper bill in the mail instead of the on-line, paperless option. How can I make this change?

  • Select the MyOnlineBill link at the PWD Home Page.
  • Sign in and select the Manage Account Tab at the top of the screen.
  • Then select the Update User Detail Tab.
  • Click on Update Go Paperless. In the Action Column, click Disable. The Disable status means you are set up to receive paper bills in the mail. Even though you will begin receiving paper bills, you can still view your bill on-line any time you choose. We will continue sending monthly emails to let you know when your bill is ready to view. 

If I want to receive a paperless bill, or just view my bill on-line, do I have to participate in the MyOnlineBill program?

No, but you must set-up a MyOnlineBill account by clicking on the MyOnlineBill link on the PWD home page.  Click the red Account set-up button and follow the prompts.  You will need a PWD bill for each account you wish to view. 

Do you accept credit and debit card payments?

We do not accept credit or debit card payments at this time. We accept checks or money orders if payments are mailed. On-line payments are withdrawn from your checking or savings account, and we accept checks, cash or money orders if payments are made in person at our local office at 225 Douglass Street in Portland, Maine 04102.

I use PWDs MyOnlineBill service and forgot my password. What should I do?

  • Select the MyOnlineBill link on the PWD Home Page.
  • At the Sign In Tab, click on Forgot My Password?
  • You will be prompted to enter your PWD account number
  • Your Security Question will be displayed and you will be prompted to enter your Security Answer
  • Your temporary password will be sent to your MyOnlineBill email address
  • You must change your temporary password when you sign in again

I use PWDs MyOnlineBill service and forgot my username. What should I do?

  • Select the MyOnlineBill link on the PWD Home Page.
  • At the Sign In Tab, click on Forgot My Username?
  • You will be prompted to enter your PWD account number
  • Your Security Question will be displayed and you will be prompted to enter your Security Answer
  • Your username will be sent to your MyOnlineBill email address

I use PWD's MyOnlineBill service and want to change my personal information (email address and/or password). What should I do?

  • Select the MyOnlineBill link on the PWD Home Page to sign in.
  • Select the Manage Account Tab at the top of the screen.
  • Then select the Update User Detail Tab to change your email address or your password.
  • Click the red Save/Update Button to confirm the change. The updated information will be sent to your email address.

I use PWD's  MyOnlineBill service and forgot my Security Question and Answer. What should I do?

To ensure the security of your information, we will not email your security question and answer. You will have to call PWD and speak with a customer service representative so we can verify your identity. The PWD telephone number is 207-761-8310. A representative is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

I use PWD's MyOnlineBill service and would like to change my security question and answer or my username. What should I do?

Your Security Question/Answer and your Username were established when you registered and cannot be changed. They ensure you are the only person who has access to your online information.

If I am already enrolled in the original Direct Payment Program, do I have to register for PWD's MyOnlineBill program to continue having my payments automatically deducted?

No. Customers who enrolled in PWDs Direct Payment Program are still eligible for monthly, automatic payment. However, to receive the benefit of viewing your bills online or to sign up for paperless bills, we encourage you to select the MyOnlineBill link at PWDs website to set up an account.

How do I remove or change my bank account number for online payments?

Third-Party Services (Other than PWD): You must notify the company that manages your payment withdrawal when you have a banking account change. Most companies allow you to make the change yourself on their website.

PWD's MyOnlineBill: If you pay your bill on PWDs website, select the MyOnlineBill link at the PWD Home Page and sign in. Follow the process below depending on whether you make a One-time/Occasional Payment (Pay Now) or Automatic Monthly Payments (Auto Pay).

(PAY NOW) ONE-TIME/OCCASIONAL PAYMENTS:

Change ACH banking information:

  • At the View /Pay Bill Tab, Select the red Pay Now Button.
  • In the Payment Amount field, enter the amount you want to pay (your banking numbers cannot be changed unless a payment is made).
  • At Stored Payment Type, click to select the ACH bank account you want to update.
  • Click the box in the Update Stored Payment field.
  • In the Payment Method field select ACH/Electronic check from the drop down menu.
  • Change the information in any of the following fields: Routing, Bank Number or Account Type.
  • Click on Yes, I agree and click the Next Button.
  • Review the updated information and click the Submit Button (caution: do not hit submit more than once or you could make a double payment).
  • When you see Payment Status Accepted at the top of the screen, click the Done Button. 

Remove ACH banking information:

  • At the View /Pay Bill Tab, click the Pay Now Button.
  • At Stored Payment Type, click to select the ACH bank account you want to remove.
  • Click the underlined REMOVE button next to it. Follow the prompts to complete the change.

(AUTO PAY) AUTOMATIC MONTHLY PAYMENTS:

Change ACH banking information:

  • At the View and Pay Bill Tab, click the red Auto- Pay Button.
  • Select the Update/Set-up Auto-Pay Details link.
  • At Stored Payment Type, click to select the ACH bank account you want to update.
  • Click the box in the Update Stored Payment field.
  • In the Payment Method field select ACH/Electronic check from the drop down menu.
  • Change the information in any of the following fields: Routing, Bank Number or Account Type.
  • Click on Yes, I agree and click the Next Button. Review the updated information and click the Submit Button.

  • Select the Update/Set-up Auto-Pay Details link.
